OUR STORY

Hot Meals USA was born from a deep commitment to helping communities in times of crisis. After retiring from Schwans Food Company and running BBQ restaurants in Central Nebraska, founder Richard Cochran felt a calling to do more. Inspired by his experience providing food to victims and first responders after the devastating 2011 Joplin tornado, Richard envisioned mobile disaster response units capable of serving thousands of meals daily. What began with a single trailer has now expanded to four, each capable of delivering up to 10,000 meals a day.

OUR VISION

At Hot Meals USA, our goal is to provide warm, safe meals to those affected by disasters, using mobile units that can serve thousands daily. We empower local volunteers to join us, turning communities into active participants in recovery. Our vision is to position cooking units in each FEMA district, ensuring rapid response and sustained food support in times of crisis. With a dedicated team, volunteers, and support from donors, we are committed to being there when it matters most.
